Walmart has strict requirements for Marketplace sellers. Like Amazon, they want a consistent experience, so sellers must meet minimum standards.

1. Basic Requirements

Return Windows

  • Standard: Minimum 30 days.
  • Electronics: 14-15 days (PCs, cameras, phones).
  • Large Appliances: 2 days.
  • Luxury: 14 days (Jewelry/Watches >$300).

Refund Timeline

Sellers must process refunds within 48 hours of receipt. If late, Walmart auto-refunds the buyer.

⚠️ Important

  • Must have a US return address (No PO Boxes).
  • Cannot refund via coupons or store credit.
  • No restocking fees generally (Exception: items >$600, max 20%).

2. In-Store Returns

Walmart stores accept some Marketplace returns, but NOT:

  • Freight items
  • Hazmat
  • Luxury items
  • Oversized items

Ensure your "in-store return" settings are correct in Seller Center.

3. Non-Returnable Items

Usually includes:

  • Opened trading cards
  • Firearms/Ammo
  • Prescription drugs
  • Digital content
  • Custom items
  • Hygiene products

4. "Keep It" Rule

💡 Keep It

Sellers can set "Keep It" rules: for cheap items, refund the buyer without requiring a return. Saves shipping costs.

5. Holiday Returns

Items bought Oct 1 - Dec 31, 2025, are returnable until Jan 31, 2026. Prepare for this peak.

6. Shipping Costs

Seller pays if seller fault (defective, wrong item). For buyer remorse, it depends on your specific policy settings.

7. CS Requirements

  1. 48h Refund: Speed is key.
  2. Accept Valid Returns: Cannot reject if within policy.
  3. Fast Response: Reply to inquiries promptly.

Policies update. Check Walmart Seller Center regularly.
